Guide to Men's Section Competitions
For a detailed description about entering and playing in Men's Section Comptetions, please see here.
Connected with this Guide, please read also the notes below relating to How Did I Do and Competition Credit Account (CCA)
Please ensure your scores are recorded via the How Did I Do app, or if you cannot access this, that a copy/photo of your score is given to the Handicap Secretary, Kevin Royan.
To enter a competition, entry fees are payable, in advance, according to a set procedure. To do so, each player will need to set up, and fund, a Competition Credit Account (CCA). Please click here or CCA tab on the main menu for details. Please ensure your CCA is sufficiently funded* and contact Simon Harding (Treasurer) if you have a query.
* Members entering a competition when their CCA is insufficiently funded risk being ineligible to claim any prize offered in that competition. That includes Birdie Vouchers and any benefit from a Hole-in-One.
Please note: Competition entry is via entering your name on BRS - if your name is showing at the start of the competition, then your CCA will be debited accordingly. If you know you will not be able to play, YOU MUST REMOVE YOUR NAME FROM BRS BEFORE THE START to avoid payment being taken! If this cannot be done (e.g. "emergencies"), then please contact Simon Harding as soon as possible to explain.

Regular Sunday Comps: Coming up... see Events Tab
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP Sundays 10th & 17th August 2025
This year, Club Champs will be played over 2 Sundays. For those in contention for the scratch title, there will be a 'cut' with the top players playing their second round on the Sunday 17th. For those who didn't make the cut, there will be a separate Stableford comp off the 10th tee.
Hopefully, this will help avoid the problem in previous years, played over 2 rounds in one day, when entrants opted initially for 36 holes, but then, following (perhaps) a poor performance over the first 18, simply dropped out - this created havoc with the planning, tee-times etc. and contributed to a lack of support for the often exciting finale as the leaders approached the 18th.
This isn't just a comp for a few elite low handicappers! There's something for everyone ! See below for details and entry criteria:
Club Championship
This year’s Club Championship will be held over two dates, Sunday 10th August and Sunday 17th August - all those wishing to enter must play on the 10th as this is a qualifier for the 17th. Top 12 Players (including draws) in each competition Scratch and 14 Plus Shield will proceed to the final round.
In addition to the main competition there will be an 18 hole Nett Prize and a Best Gross Prize for both of the dates. There will also be an overall Nett Prize (x3) for the 36 holes (Divisional) ( You can only win one prize )
In the first round all players taking part will go out in handicap order, highest to lowest, 3 or four balls depending on number of entrants.
There will be a separate stableford competition off the 10th Tee for all players who wish to play, but not take part in the Club Championship.
Anyone who does not make the cut will automatically be included in the stableford
competition off the 10th Tee on Sunday 17th August, unless they withdraw prior.
